BALLAST.

Disclaimers and important information

Draft  This page is a working draft prepared for internal and captain review. The compliance posture below is deliberate, but the exact wording has not yet been reviewed by counsel. Treat it as a starting point, not final legal copy.

Paper performance

Every performance figure Ballast publishes is paper. The books hold no real money. They are simulated portfolios: positions are marked to real market prices each trading day and the resulting net asset value is recorded, but no capital is invested, no orders are placed, and no account exists behind the numbers. Paper results do not include many costs and frictions a real account would face, and simulated performance has inherent limitations. Past performance, paper or real, does not predict future results.

Ballast is not an investment adviser

Ballast is a publisher. It produces and circulates model portfolios, commentary, and educational material on a regular schedule, available on the same terms to everyone who reads it. Ballast is not registered as an investment adviser and does not act as one. It does not manage accounts, hold custody of anyone's money, receive discretionary authority, or place trades on anyone's behalf. The material Ballast publishes is impersonal by design and is offered as general information, not as advisory services.

Nothing here is personalized advice

Ballast does not know your finances, your goals, your tax situation, or your risk tolerance, and nothing it publishes is tailored to any of them. The three books are published models you may choose to follow or ignore. Ballast will never tell you which book suits you, because that judgment depends on your circumstances and is yours to make, ideally with a licensed professional who knows them. There is no questionnaire here that sorts you into a portfolio and no feature that acts on your account. If you act on anything Ballast publishes, you do so on your own account, by your own decision, and at your own risk.

Not an offer or a solicitation

Nothing on this site is an offer to sell or a solicitation to buy any security, nor a recommendation that any security or strategy is suitable for you. Investing carries risk, including the risk of losing money. The all-weather approach is designed to reduce the odds of a severe loss in any single regime, but it can still lose value and it is not a guarantee against loss.

Why we publish this way

The line between publishing and advising is a real one, and Ballast stays firmly on the publishing side of it on purpose. The models are the same for every reader. They circulate on a regular cadence rather than in reaction to your situation. No one is sorted into a book and no trade is ever executed for anyone. That is what lets a public, verifiable record do its work in the open. If Ballast ever changes what it does, for example by managing money directly, that would be a different undertaking under a different and registered structure, with its own disclosures. This site is not that.

Operator

Ballast is operated by Urverk. Contact and formal entity details will be listed here before the site is published publicly.

This is a draft for review and does not constitute legal advice. Final disclosures will be reviewed by qualified counsel before any public launch, and before any subscription is ever offered the relevant state newsletter and adviser rules will be checked.
